The Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) is a nationally standardized tool used in Emergency Departments to support safe, timely, and effective care. The triage level you assign using CTAS is a required data element for all Canadian hospital Emergency Departments and is essential for reporting to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).

In 2024, there were updates made to align with best practice. This presentation will provide a general overview for VCH/PHC Triage Nurses of the changes implemented for CTAS 2024. For those sites on Cerner, these changes will be reflected in the EHR.

*Please note: Completion of this module DOES NOT qualify as CTAS certification or re-certification. Please register for the appropriate course with a certified CTAS instructor to obtain valid CTAS certification.
