This course provides the theoretical basis for advanced occlusion management of central venous access devices (CVAD's) in community settings. The assessment and treatment of mechanical, chemical, and thrombotic occlusions are discussed, including the reconstitution, administration, and removal of alteplase. Nurses who have completed this course must contact their unit/program educator for final sign-off when administering alteplase to a patient/client for the first time.
